Assalamualaikum,
This is Mohd
Azzahari Othman! I am your
My Say fan and have been
following your articles
since 1999! I am the one
who called you this morning,
11.00 a.m! My contact is
012-3112604!
I am a
financial planner, my
business is basically
advising client on their
financial planning needs,
thing such as risk planning,
investment planning,
taxation, education fund,
retirement planning as well
as estate planning!
BUT my
interest is in INVESTMENT! I
am accountant by profession,
BUT it does not really suits
me well! I like investment
very much! Get burn as well
due to lack of knowledge! My
first investment book is
MAXIMISING STOCK MARKET by
Fred Tam! I got it in 2001,
a bit late, after the tech
bubble 2000! So, miss one
opportunity! I am very much
into technical analysis!
Especially japanese
candlestick ! I wish I could
master that! Fundamental is
a bit boring! I have been
reading books and magazines
on investment, technical as
well as fundamental! Maybe
2007 can be a good luck year
for me!
I am unit
trust consultant with Public
Mutual! The technical
analysis is quite useful
since I would be able to
gauge the direction of the
market, so I can give a good
asset allocation to my
clients! During uptrend, I
will recommend equity fund,
during correction, I will
switch to BOND fund, switch
back to equity if it goes
back to uptrend! If I can
master the chart reading,
based on my research and
testing, I would be able to
give an annual average of
17% per annum for the past
10 years! Of course I am
still learning! This is my
second year! Hopefully, you
can be my mentor, so I can
learn few tips as well!
That's all
for introduction!
Maybe we can
meet up over lunch and
sembang2 about this!
Wassalam
AZZAHARI

Yeah 'lah'
briggite..Bro. Ariffin reminds
me of a Malay saying :
"Resmi padi, makin berisi, makin
tunduk". Simply interpreted
(not translated) : The more
knowledge and ability you have,
the more humble you become.
I like to vote bro. ariffin for
the following category : "The
most genius and most modest
economical chartist for
2005-2006"
HAIL ARIFFIN!!
Happy New Year 2007 and Happy
Investing - good & prosperous!!

Bro Ariffin, why should you be
apologising? When I said that
'it takes two to tango' and
'you're givin me too much
credit', it means that I'm
complimenting you. To tell you
the truth, I have a great
respect towards you and your
views in this thread, the Edge,
your portal etc. You could say
that I am your ardent fan as
well. Let's say, I am honoured
to know you...after all you're
my 'senior'!

Hi Arifin,
I, for one, finds the
discussions in this forum very
interesting. There is definitely
a lack of active participants in
this forum, probably because not
many investors know about this
site.
I got to know this forum through
your column "My Say" in the Edge
some time ago. I am an ardent
fan of your column every time
you write. I am eagerly waiting
for your next contribution. Just
thought I tell you this.
Yes, Fred Tam is probably right
in saying that we are in a bull
run. When was the last time
after so many years have we seen
the KLCI hit 1100 points.
Chartists like SN Lock is also
bullish. It would be interesting
how long this market can
maintain its run. Till then, it
does looks like the market is
going to close 2006 with a bang.
By the way, when is your next
article in the Edge?
Cheers.

Well said bro ariffin but I
think you're givin me too much
credit on the 'vital part' that
I've played when it takes two to
tango. We also have strong
people like almerica (eric),
ahvincent, dublinohio, bzbug
etc. Even Brigitte has decided
to join in. Memory serves -
somewhere herein this thread
we've spoken about the same
issue of participation....well,
am not goin to talk so much
about it as I have spoken what
need to be spoken.
Anyway, johndoe05 (what do we
call you anyway?) - with you
around adding up to the team,
your active contributions and
participation would be
anticipated. And I would like
again to thank you for coming
in.
About the current stock market
condition, if you read carefully
in the next pages, there have
been some series of discussion I
had with bro. Ariffin.
But since some 'force-majeur'
elements are starting to take
place in Asia and all over the
world, I think we would be
experiencing some 'tremor' in
the stock market as well...I
hope we have 'tremor proof'

Dear Johndoe,
I quite agree with you that
there are not too many active
forumers posting their
thoughts in this thread which I
started some time back. However
its among the most active thread
in GMN, albeit 5/6 of us being
the ones giving viewpoints
constantly. I wish to thank Nik
for that for he played a vital
part.
The problem is we Malaysians
tend to be reserved in having
open discussions.... you can
even see that attitude in many
intellectual forums held here or
internationally. I for one would
like to differ - colleagues
sometimes branded me as
outspoken! Well if you don't
understand on certain issues why
keep quiet?
As for the KLCI's trend I'm
convinced that its pretty rosy
for now (Fred Tam even called it
a 'bull run' already!). I have
stated before (see comments
below) and have forecasted quite
accurately the timing of the
1,000 mark which I have penned
down in The EDGE's My Say column
in the Nov 18 issue.
Don't fret, we're in an
interesting phase of a gradual
but sure uptrend! Only thing its
nice if more people out there
join in the debate.
Thanks again Johndoe.

Hi Bro Arifin,
KLSE is now trading at the 1070
level. It looks like we are in a
super bull run. Everyday, we
think the market is going to
drop but it keep on defying
gravity. Who would have expected
this fantastic run one month
ago.
What are your reading of the
market direction?

Hi Bro Arifin,
We seem to be in a real bull
run. The volume over the 1
billion mark and index is up
nearly another 10 points to 1037
points.
What do you think of the market
direction? Not many would have
thought the market could sustain
after it breached the 1000
points but now it is going
higher and higher. My remisiers
are getting more bullish by the
day. When more people get more
bullish, I think the market
would correct.
What's your comments? We would
really appreciate your expert
views.

Brother
Ariffin,
that's
a
good
comment
(the
edge)!
My
eyes
quickly
spotted
these
strong words/phrases
in
two
paragraphs
as
well
:
The
fundamentals
are
out
there
for
all
to
see
—
there
is
no
doubt
about
that.
Things
are
getting
much
better
in
the
economy,
with
the
government
proposing
more
mega
projects
under
the
Ninth
Malaysia
Plan.
Still,
there
is a
limit
to
what
the
government
can
(and
should)
do.
It
is
now
more
a
question
of
whether
the
private
sector
can
(and
is
willing
to)
come
up
with
the
funding,
either
via
private
finance
initiatives
(PFIs)
or
any
other
feasible
means.
I
think
the
private
sector
will
be
able
to
fulfil
"its
end
of
the
deal",
which
explains
the
rosy
picture
for
business
in
the
Malaysian
economy.
How
the
equities
market
responds
is
another
ball
game.
Bear
in
mind
that
when
the
KLCI
breached
the
1,000
psychological
barrier
on
Nov
3,
it
was
doing
so
after
several
failed
attempts
over
the
years.
In
technical
terms,
the
KLCI
has
emerged
strongly.
This
bodes
well
for
the
market
as a
whole,
not
just
the
blue
chips.
Which
you
know
that
I
can
almost
agree
101%....
Yes,
it's
still
doing
fine
(psychologically)
but
may
still
be
interconnected
'asymmetrically'
to
the
General
Assembly.
Separately
today, in
the
'Construction
Quality
Management'
thread,
I've
given
some
views
on
PFI.
Ok..I'm
being
'skeptical'...but
as I
said,
I
wanna
see
what
happens this
Saturday/Sunday
and
I'll
tell
you
my
views
next
week
(including
the
probable/factual
or
fictional
'connections'
to
oil
price,
spillover
of
bourses
strong
performance
etc)
